Chapter 20

The next day it was the life of luxury for Aoki and Ri-Ri. Earlier, they had gotten their hair done at one of the top beauticians in the city at a salon in Midtown Manhattan that celebrities frequented. Afterward, they went shopping on 5th Avenue for shoes and clothes. Now, it was manicures and pedicures, and girl talk as the Korean ladies worked meticulously on their feet and toes.

Aoki sat back and closed her eyes. If only every day was like today. She felt like she was in a different world. She was able to breathe and feel some peace in her life. She loved being pampered. She deserved it. Ri-Ri had the right idea to do them for a day.

“After this, let’s get a drink and something to eat. I’m starving, girl,” Ri-Ri said.

Aoki nodded.

The designs on Aoki’s toes were coming out perfectly, diamonds and stars, colorful and intricate. She smiled at it. Ri-Ri decided to go with hot flames, representing her hotness.

An hour later, the girls stepped out of the nail salon with their fingers freshly painted with gel polish. They went into a bar and grill and ordered two strawberry daiquiris and took a seat in a corner booth to talk.

“You have any suggestions on how to carry out this hit?” Ri-Ri asked quietly.

“Ya de one that got us into it. Ya ain’t got a plan?”

“That’s always been your department, Aoki.”

Aoki smirked. She knew Ri-Ri got this far only because of her. “We need to come up wit’ somethin’ in a week. Oscar is a man ya don’t want to let down.”

“I kind of figured that. I’m nervous.”

“We gon’ be okay.”

Ri-Ri took a sip from her drink and sighed heavily. She had put her trust in Aoki, knowing her friend would come up with a game plan to execute this bitch while she was getting her nails done. They had a small window, and it needed to count. Both girls felt that once they pulled this contract off for Oscar, then they would be in his favor for a very long time.

“Me gon’ think of somethin’.”

Aoki wasn’t nervous, only determined to succeed. There was no reward without risks, and so far their risks were paying off.

First things first, they had to scope out the nail salon and the area around it, look for escape routes, and monitor the folks coming and going from the place. The planning was the tedious part about a job. They already had Rosario’s photo; now it was time to know about her life, so they could end it.

The girls talked and drank, but their time in the city was winding down. The day was passing by, and it was time to head back to Brooklyn. They ordered a few more drinks, had a nice dinner of lobster, crab legs, fried shrimp, and French fries, and left.

Aoki and Ri-Ri deliberately arrived at the projects with a few shopping bags filled with goodies. They were feeling nice and wanted to go and fuck with Tisa and Gena.
